Sometimes the wait for a train is long during trainspotting . Those moments I usually engage in nature photography. I was waiting for this shot . http://trainspo.com/photo/70125/ ... then I suddenly saw a red kite landing in the nearby paddy field ...

@Jayasankar. Isn't it? I share you interest in nature whilst waiting for motive power. This lizard was watching me watching him at Bischofsheim. He was hiding in a cable pit.

In India, its not unusual that Railway protection force personnel stare at you for clicking pictures in big stations.
But being stared and nearly charged by this one is something new for me 😛

Sometimes to spot morning trains have to get up so early by 3 or 4AM , catch the first local train to be at the spot. Then such beautiful sunrise can be seen too ....

Astro

@jmadhavadas Some scenes of nature are worth the early start. A very nice capture.

While waiting for some BNSF action, saw these pelicans on a nearby pond. Pretty rare in Missouri - can't say I've seen them here before (though I AM pretty old - I may have forgotten...)
