| Commencing in mid 2007 a program commenced to build what is essentially a new locomotive, utilising frames and bogies salvaged from ex Colombian GR12’s. USA rebuilt EMD turbo 645E3, rated at around 2400 HP. Extensive rebuild, all new walkways and body, cab with rounded roof – similar profile to NF210, 4 front windscreens, snub nose, no valance. New radiator/cooling group, same dynamic brake module as 1452-58, electrics all new, Webtec Q-Tron microprocessor control. Design weight 97 ton. FCAB Engineering internal classification Type XQIIIc/TURBO. |
