This new service of CFI and DB Cargo Italia from San Nicola Melfi to Lyon was recently taken over from former operator Mercitalia Rail and has an interesting story behind: On July 16th 2020 the train departed from San Nicola Melfi and stood overnight in Foggia station. In this night, unkown people stole the wheels of more than 70 new Fiat 500 cars that were loaded on the train. The train was then split and put under further investigations. The unaffected part of the train continued further to its final destination, passing Turin and the Fréjus pass on-time.
