All GE locomotives are restricted to 25km/h when diverging through switch, hence the need to accelerate back to track speed (usually 40km/h at sidings) after locomotive has cleared switch. It has to do with heavy axel load on GE locos (30 tonnes). Most 1520mm railways have maximum allowed axel load 23 tonnes.
