It was a very dark and rainy day in England. Traffic on the East Coast Mainline was amazing on that Friday afternoon - several Class 43 and 91 trains per hour in both directions. All the trains seemed overcrowded with lots of standing passengers. In the same evening I took Class 43 service from York to Edinburgh. It was totally overcrowded.
Class 43 trains on that mainline have now been replaced with LNER Azumas.
