To avoid having to repair the car in the field in sub-freezing weather, NS mechanical department personnel on the scene determined that the car could be moved to Orrick, but only at a slow walk speed, about 2.5 mph. So, for a trip of just over 14 miles to the first available set-out track, the trip took 5 hours. From the point of where he is in this photo to where I was standing at a road crossing, it took him about three minutes to get there.
