Indian Railways have encouraged advertising its WAP-7 locomotives to earn the non-fare revenue.Since then, many sheds have advertised some of its WAP-7 locomotives, which gave different colours to the locos and motivated the Railfans to get near the tracks once again,as it was a relief from the mundane white livery with single red band. Contrary to many loco sheds, Electric loco shed, Erode has painted the entire loco in different colours in sync with the ads whenever they are advertised, giving the loco an entirely different livery as a whole. Rest of the loco sheds only stick the ads on the sides of the locomotives, leaving the face as it is. Recently, Erode Loco shed started painting some of its locomotives with poster of the Tamil movie "Vikram" starring Kamal Hassan,Fahad Fazil and Vijay Sethupathy, as part of the movie promotion. This is the first time a movie poster is being painted in locomotives. Here is one of the "Vikram" movie locomotives, No.30354 pulling the Mumbai-Trivandrum Garib Rath express through the suburbs of Ernakulam.
