Recently, new BFNV rakes developed and manufactured in India were put into service, with all of them belonging to Jindal Steel Works.
The BFNV Wagon is designed specifically to carry steel coils, and is manufactured by US-based GATX Corporation's India arm. Each wagon has 5 V-shaped troughs that position the coils in such a way that they can easily be loaded/unloaded from the side using forklifts. The open top design also makes top loading/unloading possible.
