The ZSSK type 361 loco’s are quite a few years old now, even though the class 361 is relatively new. The loco’s started as the ČSD E499.3 class in the 1980’s and later became the ZSSK 163 class. During an overhaul in the 2010’s the ones that got an overhaul were renumbered to the 361 class. From the depots of Žilina and Košice the loco’s now run various local and media-long distance trains in north and eastern Slovakia. Like the 361 003, which here passes the Tatra mountains with the local train between Liptovský Mikuláš and Poprad-Tatry.
