This photo depicts one of the small fleet of class 47/6's created by British Rail for use on heavy sleeping car trains from Edinburgh to Inverness and Aberdeen. They were renumbered in 1991 from class 47/4's and technically were the same but had uprated electric train supply and were restricted to 75mph. The entire fleet of 7 locomotives (671 to 677) were allocated to Inverness Depot.
