What's the yellow expulsion?
It's the coolant draining. After shutting the locomotive down, following the climb out of Cheyenne, the crew drained the coolant to prevent it freezing in the sub zero temperatures
And with only two units for power the train crew was very likely to run out of time before the train got to Casper. On the radio the engineer seemed very reluctant to set off from Cheyenne, but eventually he did and we got our pictures.
