Since posting I have confirmed that this unit was rebuilt by VMV Enterprises and is thus classified as a GP39V. It was built in 1965 and re-manufactured in 1990. The 645D3A engine produces 1720 kw. Source:"Burlington Northern and Santa Fe Railway 1997 Motive Power Review" Robert C Del Grosso.
