When me and my friend (beltbahn) planned this trip we hoped for lots of snow. Unfortunately there was no snow when we arrived. It was a warmer than normal winter. But no problem because the German BR103 pulling the CityNightLine to Garmisch Partenkirchen should make up for it. While we were waiting for this train, we saw huge fog banks rising up from the valley, heading towards us. We could just take this picture of the BR 111 041 hauling the RE to Garmisch. 15 minutes later the whole area was covered with fog. Then there was the CityNightLine, not with the BR103 but with an ordinary DB red BR115. Murphy's law!
