#152 Petropavlovsk - Almaty train, Zhaman-Ashy - Chaglinka span

http://trainspo.com/photo/27293/#photo - we caught the same train now in northern Kazakhstan, near the city of Kokshetau. The line between Petropavlovsk and Kokshetau is not electrified, so the only available KTZ speedy passenger diesel locos were brought here from the Ayagoz shed (Eastern Kazakhstan).
storyThe history of Talgo trains in Kazakhstan is closely associated with the pictured TEP70 loco as it was the only passenger type in KTZ for a long while. It was used for the first years between Almaty ans Astana though the line was fully electrified to the moment. Then it was replaced by the long-awaited Chinese KZ4A, but now it's back on a high-speed track with the introduction of the third 151/152 Talgo train.
"Only passenger type in KTZ" is wrong to eat. The TEP70 loco has constructional speed of 160 km/h and was to KZ4A the KTZ unique locomotive with such high speed.
"Talgo" train with TEP70 loco since 2002 to 2007 goes http://trainspo.com/photo/26457/?list=class#photo but all distance of his route from Astana to Almaty is overhead wire 25 kV 50 Hz.
