These two eastbound trains could run side-by-side for thirty miles until they get to the single-track Sibley bridge if the dispatchers so choose, but westbound traffic would probably prevent that scenario from happening. Most likely, the UP train will be be the one to see red signals from the BNSF dispatchers controlling the Marcelline Subdivision east of Kansas City, even though the UP train has hotter traffic.
