MKCX 8303, leased by MKT, works north around a shoo-fly.

storyThe railroads FW&D (BN) and MKT wanted to replace their bridge over East 4th Street near downtown Fort Worth, so they built a four-track detour called a shoo-fly around the location. They temporarily filled in the channel where the street ran under the old bridge and moved the tracks over there for a few months, allowing them to rebuild the bridge and its abutments more efficiently. Here, a leased Morrison-Knudsen SD40 and a former Conrail GP38-2 pull an MKT train northward.
