Soo Line took possession of Milwaukee Road assets in 1986, and came up with this attractive patch job of a paint scheme, known as the Bandit. Though they were somewhat neglected back then, in 2015 such locomotives are being bought and sold and rebuilt like there is no tomorrow - US EPA regulations on diesel exhaust emissions from new locomotives suddenly makes re-manufacturing older locos (which do not have to conform to the new regs) very desirable. Soo retained this 1967-built unit and it was eventually rebuilt and repainted into the CP Beaver scheme as #4616 in 2002 and is still active as of 2015.
