SLSF Bridge Crane BC-001 is driving one of the two "quarter" pilings (the inside pair), while the outer two "batter" pilings have already been driven "to refusal" (will not go in any further) and cut off to the proper height. This is the main line of the Fort Worth & Denver Railway, a subsidiary of Burlington Northern, so the bridge crew has about ten hours to get it right and get out of the way for the day. A project like this can take several weeks or more from start to finish, so the crew gets a good routine going each day during its work window. Each night, rail traffic is allowed through at restricted speed until the project is complete.
