The engineer is Ed Dickens, Senior Manager of UP's Heritage Fleet Operations, and he gives me the eye (and plenty of whistle) as he slows for a 60 mph curve just ahead. 844 is a seriously awesome machine!

Special run to Memphis, TN, for the grand opening of a new pedestrian walkway on Union Pacific's Harahan Bridge. UP has no regular steam service - all such movements are considered Specials.
