When the Conrail Merger occurred on April 1, 1976, most Lehigh Valley property and equipment went into Conrail ownership, except for some units in this class and one other, which went to the D&H. The D&H had something of a relationship with the N&W, which is why we see this unit all the way over in Kansas City.
