Sometimes around 1972, for conversion from meter gauge railway line to broad gauge, authorities had to make this longer circuitous line. The original meter gauge line was almost straight from the base of the hill behind to just left of the position of the locomotive in this image. This curve is believed to be the second sharpest broad gauge curve on Indian Railway network.
