Renovated station and DMU service after 14 years of inactivity

Cochin Harbour Terminus built in 1943 was a major terminus station in South India which lost its glory as time passed. Many major trains running in Kerala used to originate from this station. But when new line to Thiruvananthapuram came, all the trains originating from this station were extended to Thiruvananthapuram Central. Eventually this station faded from memory even though this station is close to Naval base, Cochin ship yard etc and lots of people commute to this island daily. Recently IR decided to renew this line and started a DMU service. But there was no proper planning. For namesake DMU service started with no use to the commuters. After one month of experimental run, it is likely to be withdrawn from service. I felt lucky to visit this station and capture the DMU service. Perhaps I can also say someday that I had traveled in a train from this station.
Awww! Nice scene here, though. Where does the service actually go to and from?
@Maersk.146 It is short distance service from Cochin Harbour Terminus to Ernakulam Jn. A 30-40 mins journey.
@jmadhavadas Thanks! Strange that it would not be considered a useful service.
