Monday 30 December 2024 near Lapio (Avellino) a couple of 3000 series railcars (which until a few months ago regularly carried out regional services on the non-electrified lines of Sicily) returned as an empty train from Avellino towards the Foggia depot. For a few weeks the two ALn replaced the corresponding railcars of the 1200 series in the historical color on the Irpinia Express service. The services previously mentioned organized by Fondazione FS are currently the only opportunities to photograph a train on the Avellino-Rocchetta S.A.L line which has been closed to commercial traffic for almost a decade. In the photo the ALn pass slowly on an arched viaduct between the stations of Montemiletto and Lapio, the difficulty of taking photos on this stretch of line often immersed in the woods and the roads in this area of Campania made me very satisfied with the photography
