These locomotives were built for Kennecott to use hauling copper from their Bingham Canyon, Utah mine to the smelter. The raised cab was for better visibility at the loaders. Also notice the high clearance on the fuel tank to avoid debris on the track at the mine. The locomotive is lettered for the Rarus Railway which was taken over by Patriot Rail Company in 2007. Patriot changed the name to Butte, Anaconda and Pacific. This engine is currently operating on the Utah Central Railway, another Patriot rail property.
