There was an experiment in Australia back in the mid 1990s using these carriages and towing them with conventional diesels, I think between Sydney and Canberra.

@Kempy72 That's interesting. I know that X2000 trains were tested also in US by Amtrak and used in service in China

@rl ahh. Interesting. I thought China used Siemens trains, same as the ICEs in Germany.

@Kempy72 China uses many different high-speed trains, they have imported technology from different countries. According to Wikipedia one X2000 trainset was used in China for some time, but later was taken back to Sweden: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/X_2000
