WAG-12B is India's most powerful made-in-India, goods train locomotive as of 2022. These 12000 HP locomotives are capable of hauling 6,000 tonnes at a top speed of 120 kms/hr. French Company Alstom in technical collaboration with Indian Railways, produce these Prima T8 base designed locomotives in one of India’s largest integrated greenfield manufacturing facilities at Madhepura, Bihar. As of May-2022, about 210 units are successfully operating in Indian Railways.
