After spending the afternoon at Kappil village, it was time for me to go home. My return train was powered by 32 years of service EDDS, WAG-5HA . It was exciting to see this old freight workhorse powering the small consist of Kollam Jn - Thiruvananthapuram Central unreserved Express slowly rolling into Kappil station in the evening light. I enjoyed amazing acceleration of this WAG-5HA as it started from each station till Thiruvananthapuram Central. Good to see that these old locos are being used for short distance passenger trains instead of being decommissioned.
