Designed by Mr. Sudhanhu Mani during his tenure at Intergal Coach Factory, Chennai - India, VANDE BHARAT Express is a totally indigenous product of Indian Railways bound to revolutionize intercity travel in India. A total of fourteen VANDE BHARAT Express have become operational connecting different cities of India. Latest one being the VANDE BHARAT Express connecting Thiruvananthapuram Central and Kannur. Started as project named Train 18, this project got full support from Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi under the MAKE IN INDIA program and it became one of the main projects of Indian Railways, redefining the way of rail travel in India.

@Maersk.146 The control room is quite spacious . Since it was trial run, few IR officials were also traveling in the cab.
