The accident happened in Vello di Marone, on the Brescia-Iseo railway. A service train hauled by the D343.1043 passed a signal at danger and collided with ALn668.142 filled with students to Brescia. The train driver of the railcar activated the emergency brake and warned the passengers. 12 lightly hurt passengers, no deaths. The ALn668.142 was repaired. The Locomotive is still in the same condition as above. After the accident, the Safety System SSC (Sistema Supporto alla Condotta) was installed that works like an ATP.
