16 car brand new tangerine colored Vande Bharat Express connecting Chennai and Nagercoil was inaugurated on August 31, 2024. Starting at 0500 hrs from Chennai Egmore, reaching Nagercoil Jn by 1350 hours covering a distance of 727 kms and returns back to Chennai Egmore, same day by 1420 hours and reaches Chennai Egmore by 2300 hours. As the monsoon season is its peak, it is lush green around the Nagercoil area and it was beautiful sight to see the tangerine colored Vande Bharat Express passing through those lush green fields with Western Ghats in the background.
