E2 series Shinkansen high-speed trains are in service since 1997, they have max speed of 275 km/h. JR East is using them on some Yamabiko and Nasuno services on Tohoku Shinkansen. However, most E2 sets have been retired and last remaining ones will be withdrawn in 2025
