One era of locomotives in JR East is coming to an end.

Yes. All of JR East loco is planned to be replaced by new work train, class E493 and GV-E197. They are not loco. They are just EMU.
But they are in lots of trouble...

@mitsuno - Oh, I see, yes, that is too bad to say goodbye to individual locomotives. EMU's are just too efficient, apparently.
