GVR Ja 1240Glenbrook Glenbrook

Recently restored by Mainline Steam, Ja 1240 was run in at the Glenbrook Vintage Railway before mainline excursion work. This locomotive was built by Hillside, Dunedin in the early 1950's. The 4-8-2 Ja class was the last locomotive class built by NZ Railways and many survived to the end of steam in 1971. Ja 1240 is now based in Christchurch.
