Southern Pacific owned only four GP40Xs, and all four were assigned to one train on August 30, 1985. Seen departing the railroad's Dolores Yard in Carson, California, are GP40Xs 7201, 7231, 7200 and 7230. (While this may seem like a rare shot, the four GP40Xs tended to stick together in a solid set a lot because of their finicky electrical systems. Apparently, they didn't "play well with others.")
