Amtrak, ColoRail and Union Pacific RR are looking into running trains from Denver Union Station (two tracks available for Amtrak trains - tracks 4 & 5) to Winter Park Ski Resort in coming year(s). Interstate 70 becomes a parking lot (traffic jam - numerous accidents) during ski season. Skiers looking for alternatives to get to the slopes. Amtrak has surplus equipment after the Christmas/New Years holidays (January - March).
