As Indian Railways moves to uni gauge , meter gauges and narrow gauges are being closed for gauge conversion. Akola Jn - MHOW is one of the few remaining MG line soon to be converted to broad gauge . So I took a journey through this line. A journey of 11 hours through the rural India where agriculture is the main occupation . Stations are rustic and MG lines always has a rustic charm. It was a thrilling journey behind a YDM-4 locomotive. I was in the coach just behind the locomotive for the whole 11 hours journey which started by 6.00 AM and ended by 5.00 PM. Was quite tiring but still I enjoyed . But equally sad that I will not be able to travel through this charming country side again in a meter gauge train.

Hmm that's true ... But if u still have time dp visit NER mg especially Sitapur to Mailani , Mailani bahraich section before it's closed
