WAP-5 locomotives came to India from ABB / AdTranz in 1995 . 10 units came from ABB / AdTranz and after that production in India started. But it took 21 years for WAP-5 locomotive to come the extreme Southern India . To be precise, to the city of Thiruvananthapuram under Trivandrum division of Southern Railway . There were claims that WAP-5 locomotive can never travel such far distance filled with gradients but it quashed all the claims and came to Thiruvananthapuram without any failure and returned back to H.Nizamuddin . It was a great moment for me to capture VADODARA WAP-5 coming to my home city .
