The DL class were built by CNR Dalian from 2010 to 2014 and have 3500 HP MTU motors. They are the first new class of locomotive in NZ for nearly 30 years. The MetroPort trains run around the clock between Auckland and Tauranga linking New Zealand's largest city with the largest port.
