This is a railcar built by "Uzinele N. Malaxa" at the end of the '30s. 100 "Malaxa 900" units were built. Some are still in service. In the '70s, they got a Raba D2156 Diesel engine. From 2008 (whne nobody was thinking they will invest money into this very old DMUs) some got Volvo Penta engine (euro 3) and board computer, that allow the multiple use (maximum 2 units). The "modernised" units are painted in green-yellow, like the one in the photo. The other units are red or cherry-colored. Also, green DMUs can be found (they had no major repair in the '90s and they left green... those are the only class 77 DMUs without plastic seats).
