Due to bridge work on the TransCon on this date, at two locations (one in Missouri and one in Illinois), BNSF detoured several trains via the Brookfield Sub between Galesburg, Illinois, and Kansas City. In this view, an eastbound stack train has crested the summit of Centennial Cut, so named for its completion 100 years from the opening of CB&Q’s original route across Missouri.
