@Maersk.146 It's normal here in Europe that buildings are usually mixed used. Normally on the ground floor are shops and on the upper floors are apartments or offices. The city of Lviv has it's architecture from the Austrian-Hungarian times and is an absolute must visit.

More infos to the trams:
Lviv is one of a few cities in Ukraine that has meter-gauge tracks. All the other during Soviet times build tram-system use the Moscow dictated wide-gauge system. This is why you can see many central / western European trams running in Lvivs Streets. In the next few months the old Vevey trams from Bern are going to be taken in operation in Lviv! As a Bern citizen I'm very exited to soon see "my" trams used again for many many years to come.
Vinnytsia is another city in Ukraine that uses meter-gauge tracks and currently has a huge fleet of former Zurich trams (Mirage trams & Tram 2000). Very excited to visit Vinnytsia soon.
