ECS Paddington to Penzance

An unusual working of sleeper coaches
Not part of the lines being electrified?
Is it still called ‘The Night Riviera’?
@Maersk.146 It was in the original proposals but it was decided to electrify just London to Cardiff. The costs to electrify just this line has exceeded budget as it has not only been adding the electrification infrastructure but bridges raised, signalling up graded and lineside infrastructure upgrades Modifications to the Hitachi class 800's also had to be done. you might be interested in the Network Rail info https://www.networkrail.co.uk/running-the-railway/our-routes/we..xford.
@Michael Kemp Yes still has the Night Riviera name but currently is working fewer nights due to the Covid 19 situation. You may be interested that the servicing of the two trains takes place at Penzance now as Old Oak Common is now sidings for Crossrail stock and there will be a new huge station for HS2 interchange,
@bob.s wow, interesting stuff, thanks.
@bob.s - Thanks! I’ll check that out.
