Stadler "Traverso" climbing the Gotthard North Ramp

storyOn the middle of March, the Winter came back on the Gotthard Mountains. About 30cm fresh snow fell the day before, transforming the whole railway in a Winter-Wonderland. Although the legendary Gotthard railway seems falled asleep after the opening of the Gotthard-Base-Tunnel (GBT), there are a small bunch of trains still going up the mountains. One of them is the IR46 "Treno Gottardo" who goes from Zürich directly to Bellinzona. This service is brought with the new Stadler Traverso EMUs, which i personally find pretty nice. One of those InterRegios is depicted while climbing the northern Gotthard ramp, near Gurtnellen.
