@doctortrainspotter@jmadhavadas Hello guys! Can you please describe the meaning of the "R" letter at the end of the vehicle number? I need to clarify it how to build database of the runing numbers.
@ter R simply means "Rebuilt".. Many WDM-3As in service now have been rebuilt from WDM-2 at DLW Varanasi, or DMW Patiala, with upgraded powerpack, APU fitted etc.. The "R" suffix comes when the loco comes out of the workshop.. The sheds may maintain or remove the suffix "R" while having a repaint to the shed livery.
@ter .... Myself and @Akhilsanjeev90 had an understanding that we shall not use R. Just the road number only. But since @doctortrainspotter started using R, there came duplication in the database of same loco with R
@jmadhavadas Didnt know this confusion happened.. I shall remove the R from my posts.. @ter Sir, since R simply means rebuilt, there need not be any separate database for that.. I just had the doubt whether to type the suffix or not.
Thanks for the details, I’ll merge all R and non-R numbers.
