47 587 had started life as a class 47/0 numbered D1963 then 47 263 under the TOPS renumbering scheme before being rebuilt in 1983 to a class 47/4 no.47 587 with electric train heat capabilities. In 1994 it was rebuilt again to become a second series class 47/7 no. 47 736. It was taken out of service in 08/2003 with fire damage and stored and was finally cut up for scrap in 11/2007.
