Thanks! They're just tourists and locals. The loco pilots usually allow people on board the locos/caboose in this section because not many passenger trains run here. Most tourists get down at Dudhsagar Falls.

While descending the ghats the consist must stop at all stations for a mandatory brake test except the light loco formation. So the trekking tourist may request a lift till Dudhsagar station or Kulem . Somtimes the loco pilots give permission. Sometimes denied.
