Israel captured 3 locomotives Model G16 from Egypt in the Sinai during the 1967 Six-Day War. Israel Railways operated them as Nos. 301-303 (later 161 163). Nicknamed "Egyptian Jumbos", they were the first large locomotives operated by it.
