Thanks a lot! I hope you'll be able to achieve your dream! If you could come in France, it would be easy: TGVs are almost everywhere.
French railways fan are usually bored with them, because they "killed" a lot of traditional trains, with locomotive(s) and cars.
You are right, LGV (Lignes à Grande Vitesse - High Speed Lines) are fenced. But TGVs also go on "conventional" lines, such as the one you can see here. They can't operate at full speed, but that way they can reach almost every big cities in France. Nevertheless, on a few conventional lines, TGVs are allowed to reach a higher speed limit than other trains (for example between Tours and Bordeaux).
