40-0739-5, put to work at Train Hungary.

storyThe locomotive belongs to G.F.R. (Grup Feroviar Român, RO), but was detached at Train Hungary, wich is part of the same holding (Granpet România). It was registred in Romania (see the "53" in the UIC code) as Rolling Stock Company (RSCO) (!), even if all RSCO locomotives in Romania are now in G.F.R.'s possesion.
RSCO was a company who's actionaries were Grampet (owner of G.F.R.), C.F.R. Marfă (Romanian state-owned freight operator) and Raiffeisen Leasing. Because of this, C.F.R. Marfă gave to RSCO about 100 locomotives and a few thousands freight cars for free (!), while Grampet had to find customers for freight trains and Raiffeisen gave loans for the repairs needed by the rolling stock. The new company was not allowed to operate in Romania, because of unroyal competition to C.F.R. Marfă. After a few years, they said that is illegal to ban a company from the market... and RSCO started to operate in Romania, while C.F.R. Marfă is not any more a part of it. After other months, the RSCO's locomotives were "absorbed" by G.F.R. and put into service for G.F.R.. So, in that way, G.F.R. got the money for nothing and the trains for free and C.F.R. Marfă took another step to bankrupcy 😞
