Steam Incorporated and Railway Enthusiasts' Society ran a first ever joint excursion from Victoria Avenue, Waiuku to Hamilton, double-headed by NZR Hillside built coal-fired Ja 4-8-2 sisters 1250 and 1271. Ja 1250 is resident at Glenbrook Vintage Railway.
